To be known as Chelsea's secret garden is quite a thing, but with a florally be-decked courtyard, arches crafted from white roses and a rustically stylish orangery, Stanley's is a picture of quintessential English charm. Hugh Stanley, previously of Tramp and The Sydney Arms, opened his debut restaurant in 2020 with hopes of turning it into the new hub of Chelsea, and several years on it's made its mark with a unique setting and menu of ingredient-led food.
The space is incredibly versatile which is one of the things that makes it perfect for hosting events. From intimate birthday dinners to full-blown wedding receptions, the events team enthusiastically welcome private dining bookings and have a plethora of options depending on your needs and wants.
If planning a smaller soiree of between 10 to 16 people, the team have two spaces which offer an atmospheric backdrop. With huge windows and a glass roof, The Orangery looks magical day or night and is kitted out with plush Chesterfield banquettes, pendant lighting and a rustic edge. For a more sultry feel, the private room boasts rich, red wall panelling and a central table which looks beautiful when decorated with candles.
For a much bigger bash, the heated, covered courtyard is an incredible place to throw the party of the century, all year round. Above, festoon lighting twinkles and floral installations are every-bit the Instagram dream. Seating feels at home in a classic English garden in pastel hues and woven elements. Here, up to 150 people can be hosted standing, or 80 seated.
While each event is awarded a bespoke menu, the website offers a flavour of the types of dishes you might expect. From West Country spring lamb to British burrata and Isle of White tomatoes, the menu celebrates the best of the UK's freshest produce with special attention to presentation.
