Well-known for its beautiful grounds, luxurious spa and Michelin-starred restaurant, South Lodge sits just outside Horsham, in the shadow of the High Weald National Park. With 92 acres of verdant Sussex countryside surrounding the majestic hotel, as well as wildflower meadows, natural swimming pond and it’s own vineyard, it’s no wonder that South Lodge is popular for all sorts of occasions, whether it be romantic overnight getaways, private events or special celebration dinners.
If you’re in the market for the latter, South Lodge provides a variety of options for private dining, hosting anything from intimate parties of 10 all the way up to gala dinners for 180 guests. The cosiest of South Lodge’s private dining rooms is Chartwell - a bright first floor room with stunning views over the South Downs, and a smart oval table that seats 20. Larger occasions can head to the magnificent Disraeli room, which seats 50 around a long banqueting table and also boasts plush armchairs and sofas for lounging before and after your meal. Exposed stone and wood panelling gives the room an old-fashioned charm, and Disraeli also has doors that open out onto the terrace, so you can enjoy a bit of fresh air too.
The Glyndebourne room’s double aspect windows and gorgeous crystal chandeliers make it a popular choice for larger groups as well - it has capacity for up to 70 guests and can be set up with one large oval table or multiple round tables for different occasions.
Last but not least, the enormous Gladstone banqueting hall is nothing if not striking, partly thanks to its size but also thanks to little details, like high ceilings, more beautiful chandeliers and stunning views in multiple directions. This grand hall seats up to 180 guests, making it perfect for large gala and awards dinners, wedding meals and much more. The team at South Lodge are on hand to work with you to customise menus and decorative details too, ensuring that your private dining event goes exactly as planned.
