In fact, from certain spots, all you can see is spanning waves which is a special USP of this well-loved haunt.
Any private event, whether it be an intimate dinner for 15 or a party of 100, benefits from a beautiful backdrop and when it comes to interior design, Rockwater absolutely delivers. From a contemporary take on chandeliers in an array of rust tones to vintage-inspired seating upholstered in pastel hues, the venue's relaxed but sophisticated style more than adds to the appeal.
And, when it comes to choosing your spot there are two main choices, both as gorgeous as each other. On the ground floor is The Lodge, which can host between 15 and 120 guests. With a retractable roof, this space can seamlessly lead out onto a festoon-lit patio, which is home to the restaurant's food truck to take the evening in a different direction.
Upstairs, you'll find the roof terrace which similarly can host between 12 and 100 guests, or 200 if just up for drinks and dancing. Flooded with natural light and uninterrupted views, this area also has a retractable roof and is fit for a party whatever the weather.
When it comes to catering, you'll have the chance to discuss your wants and needs with the team, but Rockwater's attitude to food always stays the same. Expect fresh, ingredient-led dishes with an emphasis on seafood sourced as close as possible. As an example of what to expect, we particularly like the sound of the crab taco chips, whole baked sea bream and Rockwater burger with British Chuck steak, bacon marmalade, smoked onion aioli, pickled cucumber and fries.
