The first thing anyone will tell you about visiting Sketch is that it's an experience. From the quirky hopscotch drawn across the floor as you walk in, to the famous egg-shaped pod loos, it's a little like falling through the looking glass to find a fantasy land. So, if you're in search of a private dining room to host a celebration or special supper, there isn't anywhere quite like Sketch.
Sketch is split across three floors and divided up into four restaurants. While any of them would make a fine backdrop for a party, only one is for exclusive use: welcome to The Millicent Fawcett Room, as part of The Lecture Room & Library. Ascend the stairs at reception and you'll find this small, but lavishly decorated space, which is named after the iconic 19th-century politician, writer and leading suffragette.
The space only has room for eight people, all of whom are hosted on plush, velvet armchairs and gathered around a central dining table. A huge period window brings a little natural light, balancing the rich, red-hued interior design. Between the raspberry-striped walls, graphic-printed carpet and ombre seating, the space is a joyous riot of colour and pattern.
The Millicent Fawcett Room only accepts exclusive bookings between Wednesday to Saturday for dinner, and Thursday, Friday or Saturday for lunch. As part of the three Michelin-starred Lecture Room & Library, guests are treated to the same award-winning menu.
At lunch time, it's all about the set menus, with a three course offering available Thursday and Friday, or a reduced four course tasting menu on Saturday. In the evening guests are welcome to try the complete tasting menu which spans seven courses. Here, you might enjoy the likes of miso marinated pollock and Scottish langoustine with poivrade artichoke and mint.
