Roe is the hot new thing on the London food scene, having opened in Spring 2024 and dreamed up by chefs Will Murray and Jack Croft, alongside Chairman James Robson, who also brought us its critically-acclaimed sister restaurant Fallow St James’s and FOWL.
The space is stunning, boasting a light-filled main dining room with huge floor-to-ceiling windows and an almost futuristic concept designed in collaboration between STAC Architecture and Studio Gossamer. Found in Canary Wharf, the restaurant's industrial location means that from the impresisve wrap-around terrace guests can look out to the South Dock Canal, while inside the multi-use space can play host to a plethora of event types.
For example, if throwing a large party, speak to the team about taking over the entire restaurant which has space for 150 people seated or 250 standing. If you just fancy booking a larger table for a group of pals, the team can cater for up to 18 people on their most generous table. While, those picturing an exclusive soiree should take a peek at the private dining room which has capacity for up to 25 people.
The private dining space is breath-taking and features a long central table in a rich, black hue, complimented by sculptural elements such as hanging pendant lighting, a coral-like ornamental bowl and brass-toned elements across the walls. Thanks to the natural light which floods into the room, the whole scheme feels full of life, accentuated by the greenery and plants hanging from above, too.
As for the food, Roe is about uplifting seasonal, British produce and so the menu changes quickly, but you can take a look online for a taste of what to expect. We love the sound of snacks like honey glazed cheese and lardo doughnuts, followed by small plates like English tuna crudo with hazelnut, charcuterie xo and daikon, as well as larger plates like Venison and dairy cow burger with cheese, bacon and lettuce.
