If you're looking for an East Sussex event venue with a contemporary flair, stunning views and an impressive menu, Rockwater could be just the thing. Based in the charming town of Hove right on the seafront, this beautifully designed restaurant is glass fronted with spanning vistas of the shoreline.
Rockwater is split across two levels, both of which are available for private venue hire. On the ground floor, you'll find The Lodge, a lounge-style space furnished with big, cosy armchairs, reclaimed vintage coffee tables and a retractable roof which leads out to a festoon-lit patio. Here, you can host between 15 and 120 of your favourite people in a relaxed setting with options to float between the indoor restaurant and outdoor seating space, which also has access to a food truck if you should so wish.
Upstairs, you'll find the roof terrace. This bright, light space can cater for 12 to 100 guests seated, or 200 if a night of dancing is on the cards. Modern chandeliers hang overhead in an array of rust and rose tones, chairs are draped in snuggly, white furs and the retractable roof means you can party under the stars. Sounds pretty magic, doesn't it?
As the name suggests, Rockwater's cuisine is based around whipping up the freshest seafood from local suppliers, so when it comes to food you're in for a treat. While catering for your celebration will need to be discussed with the team, the menu offers examples of what to expect including seafood platters with oysters, king prawns and crab pots, alongside whole poached lobster served with lemon aioli, as well as scallops cooked in Nori brown butter and Umami and Wakame.
Drinks wise, the talented bar staff can shake up a range of cocktails including fun sharers like watermelon ice tea which combines Grey Goose vodka, watermelon, strawberry, mint tea and lime, but there's also a curated wine list if that's more your thing.
