If The Lamb and Trotter sounds like something out of a Tolkein book, it's because the team quite fondly think it could be. Self-described as "a city pub with something country in its look and feel", this homely free house and restaurant can be found in the ancient, winding streets of Bank, offering hearty food, friendly service and traditional surroundings.
The team enthusiastically embrace events bookings and have the facilities, license and space to host everything from corporate functions and team away days, to drag shows and live bands, as well as wedding receptions and birthday parties. If you really want to throw the bash of the year, you can take over the whole venue which has capacity for up to 400 people.
The space is split over two levels, and both the upstairs and downstairs floors have their own bar, which is ideal if only taking over one. When it comes to catering, the kitchen team at The Lamb and Trotter are more than happy to prepare meals for you ahead of time, or you're invited to order on the day - but this may depend on the size of your party.
Take a look at the website to see sample menus and get an idea of what kind of grub is served up here. Sharing plates can be perfect for standing receptions or buffet-style events, with snackable bites like delicious-sounding beef sliders with cheese, pickles and burger sauce, alongside honey pigs in blankets and sausage roll bites, as well as charcuterie boards for picking at.
If larger plates are the way to go, we like the sound of the pan fried hake with samphire, shakshuka, and gremolata butter, as well as sirloin steak with tomato, mushroom, peppercorn sauce and hand cut chips, alongside a classic ceaser salad. The team are also passionate about their drinks selection with ciders, beers, wines and plenty of non alcoholic drinks, too.
