The Lamb and Trotter is a cosy haven in the heart of The City, offering patrons and diners a friendly place to pull up a chair and enjoy a speciality beer and selection of dishes from the brunch, sharing plates and a la carte menu. You'll find The Lamb and Trotter in the heart of Bank's historic streets, not far from St Paul's Cathedral.
While it's very much in The City, the team say that this public house has a country feel in its bones, and a great place to meet friends and while the day away. This venue is set across two floors, but whether you're stopping by for brunch, lunch or dinner, you'll most likely be dining in the ground floor, open plan dining room which is kitted out with pale green booths, rustic wooden tables and lots of natural light, complemented by industrial pendant lighting.
If you were interested in exploring the first floor, The Lamb and Trotter has a private dining room and lounge space, complete with second bar, all of which can be hired out. As for the menu, the team say they're passionate about seasonal produce so you can expect dishes that change regularly, depending on best availability. On the brunch menu, you can get stuck into the likes of smashed avocado with butternut squash and poached egg, alongside a steak sandwich layered with cheddar and red onion marmalade, and smaller plates like sauerkraut croquettes and hummus tahini with flatbread.
Larger plates for dinner include a selection of burgers including grilled chicken burger with truffle cheese sauce, as well as classic beef and a beetroot plant burger. We like the sound of the fried hake with samphire, shakshuka and gremolata butter, while you can't go wrong with classics like hand battered haddock with hand cut chips, mushy peas and tartar sauce.
