FARE Restaurant + Bar is a fantastic private dining venue nestled in the heart of East London, just minutes walk from Old Street and Barbican stations. Surrounded by a throng of hipster bars and restaurants, FARE is first noticeable by its huge crittal windows which flood the ground-floor space with light, complementing the industrial-style decor of exposed pipework, white metro wall tiling and suspended greenery.
Here, in what's known as The Tap Room, you'll find an all day-eatery with a pizza oven and access to a beautiful courtyard which is incredibly popular in the summer months. This space can be hired out by only when using the entire building, which includes the basement floor and main events area.
Indeed, The Wine Room is where much of the action happens; an atmospheric, underground space with minimalist style and long feasting tables, ideal for hosting large dinners of up to 75 people, or 100 if standing. This space also boasts a semi-private bar which can fit around 20 standing or 16 seated, and is a lovely place to host a cocktail masterclass or wine tasting, or just a space to chat as part of the overall space.
All catering is provided in house and at FARE Restaurant + Bar Mediterranean dining via small plates is the order of the day. There is a delicious-sounding private dining menu with a sample available online. Guests can enjoy some opening nibbles of rosemary focaccia and marinated olives, followed by starters such as French onion soup with gruyere crouton, alongside Bresaola with rocket and shaved parmesan, as well as prawn cocktail and baby gem.
Mains might look like lamb ragu pappardelle or grilled squid with risotto nero, as well as 8oz rib-eye steak with French fries and beurre maître d’ hotel. As for dessert, we like the sound of peanut butter blondie with vegan chocolate sorbet, or for those without a sweet tooth, a cheese board.
