FARE restaurant and bar is a wonderful spot that is tucked away in the heart of east London, just a stone's throw from Old Street and Barbican stations. FARE stands out with its striking windows, flooding the ground floor space with natural light and accentuating its industrial chic décor of exposed pipework, white metro wall tiling, and plenty of suspended greenery. The tap room is a versatile all day space that has a pizza oven and access to a charming courtyard, perfect for soaking up the summer rays – when the weather allows. Whereas the wine room is decked with minimalist design and expansive feasting tables, offering the perfect space for cocktail masterclasses, wine tastings, or intimate conversations.
The menu kicks off with small plates, including dishes like ras el hanout with roasted butternut, tabouleh, pomegranate and coconut yoghurt, along with stracciatella and San Daniele D.O.P with sun blushed tomato bruschetta, and a delicious plate of octopus and chorizo with roasted peppers and toasted focaccia. Going into the mains, why not order the corn fed chicken breast with chorizo parmentier potatoes, purple carrots and tarragon sauce, or the ribeye tagliata with rocket, baby spinach and parmesan. There’s also a pretty impressive pizza menu, each at twelve inches, and ranging from toppings of prosciutto cotto with artichoke heart, mushrooms, black olives, fior di latte and tomato, along with classics like a margherita, puttanesca and quattro formaggi, and specials like the beetroot with goat’s cheese, fior di latte, rucola and a smoked chilli jam glaze.
You’ll also spot a delicious brunch menu, which includes all the classics along with pizza, and the option to make it bottomless with Mimosas, FARE lager, Paloma or Prosecco to make it even better.
