The View, named such because of the City vistas offered up by its spacious outdoor terrace, is an events venue found at the heart of The Royal College of Surgeons of England. The venue is able to accommodate all manner of personal and corporate functions, welcoming events, conferences, and meetings, as well as private celebrations and weddings.
One of the venue’s stand-out spaces is The Lumley Library, which is found on the first floor. The historic space is a fully functioning library (home to one of the finest medical science library collections in Europe) and is home to dramatic interiors, including high ceilings, a dark green colour scheme, and of course, towering book shelves. Able to welcome 80 seated guests or 120 for a standing reception, The Lumley Library is well suited to private dinners, product launches and business conferences. Due to the historic nature of the space, there is no in-built AV equipment, but portable projector screens can easily be provided upon request.
For larger gatherings, opt for the venue’s eponymous event space, The View. Located on the sixth floor, The View consists of a conference suite and rooms which combine to make up one large space, allowing for a capacity of up to 180 guests for a sit-down dinner or 300 standing guests for a drinks reception. The room comes equipped with a wide screen and podium, as well as repeater screens along the walls, while the balcony looks out onto the historic Lincoln Inn Fields, and wider London beyond.
When it comes to private events, food is also taken care of at The View. The venue has entered into a partnership with the UK’s longest established event caterer and restaurateur Searcys, serving up a menu of seasonal British food and fine wines across 15 different menu styles.
