The View is a versatile events space found within the historic confines of The Royal College of Surgeons of England, which houses two private dining spaces.
One private dining room is The Lumley Library, which is found on the first floor and can welcome up to 80 guests for a sit-down meal or 120 for a standing drinks reception. The dramatic space features a dark green colour scheme, as well as high ceilings, an original fireplace and towering shelves lined with classic, rare books (the library is recognised as housing one of the finest medical science literary collections in Europe). The space is ideal for intimate dinners or business lunches and portable projector screens can be provided for presentations.
The second private dining room is the venue's eponymous space, The View. Found on the sixth floor, the space is made up of a conference suite and additional rooms, as well as an outdoor terrace which takes in views of the Lincoln Inn Fields and wider London beyond. The View is better suited to large parties, such as charity galas and awards ceremonies, with guests seated across a number of round tables. For speeches and presentations, the room comes equipped with a podium and widescreen television, as well as repeater screens dotted along the walls to make sure that everyone can see what is going on, regardless of where they sit.
When it comes to food, The View offers 15 different menu styles, each of which champion seasonal, sustainably sourced British produce wherever possible. The team at The View have entered into a partnership with long-established catering and restaurant group Searcys, who are committed to quality and service. You can also expect your food to be paired with the finest wines and perhaps a glass of Searcy’s very own Cuvee Champagne.
