Considering how much there is going on in and around South Bank, it’s surprisingly small. The entire stretch of riverside revelry is only 800 metres, widely accepted to be bookended by Westminster Bridge and Blackfriars Bridge. Yet in this stretch, you’ll find quite a few of London’s most famous landmarks. We've created this list alongside South Bank London to highlight the huge range of activities and attractions in this cultural hub of the capital.
Part of the reason South Bank is such a great area for events and parties is its well-connectedness. A short walk from Waterloo, Waterloo East and Southwark stations, the area is also easily accessible by numerous buses from across the river and even by boat. All this means no matter which venue you end up choosing, or what kind of event you’re planning, you can rest easy knowing your guests will be able to get there easily.
Before and after your event, South Bank is a great area to simply wander around in. There are even beaches - or rather, foreshores - where you can stroll by the water as the sun sets. Elsewhere, you’ll find various parks and green areas, some of which can actually be hired themselves, ideal for summer events and parties.
