Chancery Lane is a one way street on the edge of the City of London. Throughout history, the street has been associated with law, and you will find many legal corporations situated here, including the principal building of The Law Society. The oldest tailors in London, named Ede and Ravenscroft, also have their outlet and offices on Chancery Lane. Because this area has played such an important part in our national history, you’ll find a range of traditional venues in Chancery Lane alongside more modern builds and corporate spaces. During the Second World War, Chancery Lane station became home to one of eight deep level air raid shelters that were used to protect the government during attacks. In the years following the war, this space has been used for a number of other purposes, including the country's deepest licensed bar.
