Given King Henry VIII's litany of infamous failed marriages, one would perhaps be cautious about the prospect of having a wedding at Hampton Court. However, if you're one for omens, the only one of Henry's weddings that took place at Hampton Court Palace was his marriage to Katherine Parr - the wife that would eventually survive him.
Ominous portents aside, if you're looking for beautiful wedding settings, you won't find much better than Hampton Court Palace and the Royal Bushy Park. This is an area bathed in history and, if nothing else, is among the most picturesque wedding locations in southern England.
The Kings Arms Hotel sits right in between the Royal Park and Hampton Court Maze, giving you unfettered access to this historic place on your special day. Although it doesn't quite rival Hampton Court Palace itself, The Kings Arms Hotel has some unique history of its own - this was once a coaching inn, built in 1709 and named the Queen's Head after Queen Anne. By 1772 it had been renamed The Kings Arms after George III, and it remained as such up to the present day.
The hotel is the perfect spot for small wedding parties to stay - this old Georgian coaching inn retains all of its period charm, with 14 boutique guest rooms available for wedding guests, each completely unique in shape and size (a common feature of old Georgian buildings). The Kings Arms doesn't have a marriage license so they won't be able to hold your marriage ceremony, but they can provide a beautiful setting for a bridal party to prepare for the big day, as well providing private areas for a wedding breakfast, drinks party or an intimate evening meal for you and your closest friends and family.
