As well as its role as an historic royal palace and tourist attraction, Hampton Court Palace also operates as one of the most exciting wedding venues in the UK. This Grade I listed palace first began construction all the way back in 1514 during the time of Henry VIII. Since then, it's seen innumberable historical events, all while maintaining its iconic architecture and beautiful palace grounds and attracting swathes of tourists every year.
Hampton Court Palace offers a number of venues suitable for different styles and sizes of wedding. For a more intimate ceremony, try The Little Banqueting House, a picturesque spot with views of the Thames from the peaceful palace gardens. Prepare to have your inner aesthete fully satifsied by the 18th century paintings and Antonio Verrio murals, as well as the spectacular architecture of the palace itself.
The light and airy Garden Room can host up to 180 guests and is ideal for fun drinks receptions, especially when used in conjuction with the other on-site venues. The Garden Room also includes access to the walled garden, a beautiful location for photoshoots, drinks receptions, and entertainment. The Privy Garden is also bookable, in conjuction with The Orangery which was originally designed as a private greenhouse for King William III.
However, if you want to go all out then The Great Hall is a must. Accommodating up to 220 guests, there's no dreamier venue for a sumptuous ceremony and/or reception. Rich tapestries, stained glass windows and an impressive hammer-beam ceiling mean that your ceremony will be talked about for years to come.
