Shrewsbury is a county town in Shropshire that sits within a loop of the river Severn. This majestic part of the country is filled with so much history, and although it has kept much of its beautiful Tudor centre, the town has landed on its feet in the 21st century. There is so much to do in this charming town, with plenty of restaurants and pubs with charm oozing out of them. If you enjoy being outdoors, time will fly by in Shrewsbury, and walking through the town feels like you have just stepped out of a fairytale. Charles Darwin was born in Shrewsbury, in The Mount House in 1809, and grew up here with his five siblings. In Shrewsbury, there are over an impressive number of 600 listed buildings, including Shrewsbury Castle and Abbey. The Quarry park makes for a lovely stroll on a sunny day, and for some local culture, take in the sights at the Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery.
