London weddings have been setting the bar for chic, glamorous big days for years, so when choosing the venue for your own nuptials we know it'll be a hard choice. And, while the capital is full of options, if you're looking for something that will make yours - and your guest's - jaws drop, we think L'oscar might be it.
Over-the-top, flamboyant, glamorous and Parisian-inspired - if this matches the vision you had in mind for your wedding reception, you're in for a treat, but let's start with the basics.
L'oscar is a boutique hotel and restaurant with two stunning private dining rooms in central London. With a location right in the centre of town, your guests will be grateful (and impressed) by the accessible transport links with Holborn station and Covent Garden just minutes walk away.
Inside, in the central lobby and restaurant, you'll find design features such as an illuminated onyx bar and gold-gilded wall panels, but there's more to see in the private dining rooms. For those picturing a sit-down supper, The Committee Room is ideal. Here, a vaulted ceiling, ornate plasterwork and hand-painted murals of peacocks across the walls draw the eye upwards, while rich, wall panelling is an example of the Arts and Crafts movement. In the centre, a large table is perfect for a feast and can accommodate 26 people, or 40 people if you'd rather just drinks and canapes.
However, if a larger bash is what you had in mind, The Library Room will be just the thing. With all the glamour and sophisticated of the former - including peacock-painted walls and authentic architectural details - this space is more open and studded with velvet cocktail chairs throughout for a lounge feel. Here, your guests can eat, drink and be merry, with space for 80 people when standing, or 40 if sat down.
