In the heart of one of London's most fashionable areas, you'll find a mock Tudor townhouse with a stylish wine bar and restaurant inside. Standing proud in the middle of Marylebone, this gorgeous building offers both a historic and contemporary venue for those looking to get married in the capital.
While the exterior's black and white woodwork is typically striking, inside original features like stained glass windows and hearty fireplaces, rub up against pastel, velvet seating and industrial chandeliers, providing an aesthetically-pleasing take on old meets new. So, if you're the kind of couple who wants something a little different for your wedding breakfast, Clarette could be just the thing.
The venue is versatile, with a number of sections that can be booked depending on the size of your party. For an intimate supper, the Salon Prive boasts a central dining table with space for 18 guests seated and is a truly atmospheric space with huge, detailed windows which pour natural light into the room.
For a slightly larger affair, the dining room has a moodier feel, featuring dark wooden accents, richly-toned seating and a plethora of artworks spread across the walls. Here, 30 diners can be seated, or 45 people standing. And finally, if you'd like to hire the entire space, there's enough room for 100 people seated or standing, across the two floors.
Clarette is the brainchild of Alexandra Petit-Mentzelopoulos, of the Château Margaux family and Natsuko Perromat du Marais, an acclaimed restaurateur, who has worked with the likes of Alain Ducasse. The founder's French heritage and love of their culture is at the heart of the concept, so expect a menu and enthusiasm for wine reflective of that.
Catering is provided in house and generally guests will choose from the private dining menu which is served 'family style'. Current options include starters like rabbit rillette, carrots, radishes and tarragon, as well as mains like suckling pig, artichokes and green beans and desserts like cherry and chocolate profiteroles.
