Located just a few minutes away from Loughton High Street, Zizzi is the place to go for a quick but relaxing dinner after a long day of shopping. Should the sun be out, there's a secret al-fresco dining area in the back of the restaurant, where you can dine and bask in the sun with a cocktail at hand. For the days when we aren’t so lucky with the weather, the indoor seating is just as stylish, as well as homely and comfortable. Don’t forget to get a pic with the life-size horse sculpture either – this will pimp up your Insta feed.
When it comes to authentic Italian food with a modern twist, Zizzi knows its stuff. Watch your dinner being made in front of you in the theatre-styled open kitchen – you can also admire the authentic stone pizza as it bakes your pizza.
To start off your meal, try its nduja ("nn-do-ya" in case you were wondering how to say it) garlic bread – an unconventional, but welcome, twist on the classic. On a diet? Don’t worry, you don’t have to miss out on your favourites if you dine here. Try its range of skinny pizzas and feel guilt-free for the rest of the evening (or at least until you see the dessert menu). It will be hard to resist the lemon meringue sundae or chocolate and banana calzone.
If you’re only on the hunt for drinks, don’t fret – with classics like Aperol Spritz and lots of variations on the G&T to choose from, you can spend the entire day here and not have to worry about running out of drinks to try.
So if you like Italian food with a modern spin and don’t mind being watched over by a life-sized horse sculpture (he’s fake, we promise), Zizzi Loughton is the place to unwind with a cocktail after a long day.
