Zizzi Hereford

The quaint town of Hereford is home to beautiful cathedrals, views of the River Wye and now, Zizzi. Located in the new cattle market development, the Grade II-listed building has been redesigned to make room for a modern-looking restaurant with quaint original touches.

The interior décor is modern with some traditional farmhouse touches and quirky murals to make the building even more interesting. Now, onto the menu; Zizzi’s is known for its casual Italian dining, so expect to see copious amounts of pizza and pasta on the menu. You’ll find things such as bruschetta and garlic king prawns on the list of starters. When it comes to mains, there is no shortage of pizzas and pastas. From skinny pizzas, to classic pepperoni and margheritas to spag bol and lasagne, you always have the classics to fall back on.

For something a little different however, opt for one of the ‘spiendi’ options. Choose either fish or chicken and watch as your meal arrives, hanging from a skewer over a plate of potatoes and salad. Don’t forget to Instagram it! If vertical plates aren’t your thing (understandable), not to worry because there are plenty of other dishes to choose from, such as a selection of risottos, the pollo prosciutto or the lemon butter sea bass.

After indulging on all the enticing meals from the main menu, finish off your evening with something off the dessert menu. Opt for the sticky chocolate and praline torte or chocolate and banana calzone if you are a chocoholic. If not, the prosecco panna cotta or lemon meringue sundae’s are worth a try.
To wash all this down, try one of its cocktails such as the raspberry and prosecco mojito or Ciao Bella with strawberry amaretto liqueur, both pink and very Instagrammable – this place is rife with it. Because pink drinks aren’t for everyone, the garden G&T is a nice option to go for too.
