Yara is a restaurant in Altrincham, set over two floors serving a menu of Lebanese and Syrian dishes. They operate a bring-your-own wine or beer offer, plus take-away and delivery. Yara opens daily from 4pm.
The restaurant is simply decorated and modern, with tables covered in white tablecloths and a small welcoming bar area.
The menu offers plenty of crowd-pleasing choice with favourites including hummus, grilled halloumi and a chicken kebab marinated in a white wine sauce, garlic and herbs. Other starter dishes include Babaghanouj baked aubergine, and Keshkeh – homemade cheese mixed with walnuts, pitta and parsley. You can choose a selection of both hot and cold starters from the menu, all of which are ideal for sharing.
Main dishes include Lamb Shawarma – slices of marinated lamb served with Tahineh sauce, and Mosaka – chunks of aubergine and onion served in a tomato sauce with rice. Other dishes include a steak of salmon grilled on charcoal, and a sea bass dish marinated in herbs and served with rice, salad and or chips. You can also add extras to your dish such as stuffed vine leaves, pickles and vegetables.
You will find a large selection of side dishes on offer, which includes rice, salad and fries. The salads include Tabouleh which is made with fresh chopped tomato, parsley, and onion topped with lemon juice and olive oil, and Fattoush which is a tomato and spring onion dish served with toasted bread, garlic and fresh lemon.
If you’re looking for dessert you will find plenty of tempting sounding dishes such as honey cake served with chopped walnuts, Baklava, Turkish delight and ice cream. There is also a sweet cheese dish, and a milk pudding cooked with blossom water and garnished with nuts.
You will also find a selection of Lebanese wines on the menu, plus beers.
