Wood and Water is a modern British restaurant located in Brixton just a short walk from Brixton underground stop. Wood and Water is the sister restaurant to Three Little Birds, which was opened in 2015 by BBC Apprentice candidate April Jackson. This modern restaurant has a Jamaican inspired fusion menu and is open for weekend brunch, dinner and cocktails. The interior is modern and chic with a range of wooden tables and soft seating areas, sofas and window seats. Wood and Water is also open for private hire and events including weddings, clubs and celebrations.
The menu is seasonal and changing however you will find a mix of small plates and nibbles on the menu. Small plates may include croquettes made with slow cooked goat and plantain ketchup, and king prawn skewers served with scotch bonnet, ginger, lime and lemon. Other small plates include spiced sweet potato, and confit salmon served with avocado crema, courgette and capers. If you’re looking for vegetarian dishes perhaps you’ll go for the roasted cauliflower served with beetroot hummus and pomegranate, or the goats cheese served with pumpkin, beetroot rose and walnut.
Brunch includes a Jamaican breakfast, ackee and saltfish served with bammy and plantain, and a sweet potato rosti served with tomato salsa. There is also avocado on toast, served with sweet chili, halloumi and a fried egg, and cornbread served with house cured salmon and poached eggs. You will also find pancakes on the brunch menu, plus vegan pancakes which are served with vegan bacon, caramelised banana and maple syrup.
When it comes to drinks you will find a large menu serving cocktails, bubbles, wine and juices. Perhaps you’re looking for a bottomless brunch which comes with unlimited rum punch, mimosa and prosecco (for up to 90 minutes), or perhaps you’ll go for the alcohol free version which includes unlimited alcohol free prosecco, orange juice and coffee.
