Wine & Reason is a tapas wine bar and restaurant located in Worthing and only a short drive away from Brighton along the coast. Along with a carefully chosen wine list, this cosy neighbourhood spot boasts a fully vegetarian and vegan menu with a focus on tapas sharing plates. Dimly lit interiors are decked out with wooden décor, sofas and cushions as well as a wine display at the back of the restaurant to create a truly welcoming feel. During the warmer months, however, guests can relax in alfresco seating at the front of the restaurant, where they can enjoy a glass of their favourite wine along with a nibble or two. Plus, many of the seats are undercover should the heavens open.
The menu offers an array of dishes serving up global flavours. Its main focus is on tapas dishes, most of which are totally plant-based, with examples being breaded tofu ‘fishcake’ with pea puree and balsamic jelly, cauliflower pakora with kohl rabi and Granny Smith apple and chickpea and butterbean cassoulet with potato dumpling and avocado puree. There are even a handful of playful desserts, including a Jaffa Cake Cake! The tapas menu is only available for those dining in and cannot be ordered to takeaway. It does, however, offer a separate menu that’s available for delivery which includes things like burgers, fish and chips and loaded nachos - all of which are vegan and veggie, of course.
The wine list offers around 80 different wine bottles to choose from at any one time. Take your pick from intriguing varietals from exciting regions, and watch out for guest wines, specials and old favourites that pop up throughout the year. If you only fancy a glass or two, there are still more than 30 different wines available to order by the glass.
