Johnstons of Elgin is a B-Corp business, known across Scotland, and the world, for making beautiful cashmere since 1797, crafting clothing and home accessories in their stunning and historic mill. Inside this historic building, you’ll find the Weavers Restaurant.
At the Weavers Restaurant, breakfast is served between 9 and 11.30am, lunch served between noon and 3pm, and afternoon tea available from 2 through to 4.30pm. Breakfast kicks off with the Benedict dish, a classic with a twist. A toasted muffin topped with a slice of the restaurant's very own maple-glazed gammon and two poached Allarburn Farm eggs, drizzled with a buttery hollandaise sauce. The Weavers breakfast is a traditional Scottish fry up, with link sausage from R.G. MacDonald, rashers of back bacon, your choice of eggs how you like them, fresh from Allarburn Farm, Stornoway black pudding, tattie scone, beans and toast, with traditional tea and coffee or fruit juice.
For lunch, enjoy a bowl of the soup of the day, or a thick Scottish dish of cullen skink, made with Sutherlands of Portsoy's smoked haddock, potatoes and onions. There's also a selection of classic sandwiches which are served with a dressed side salad, Weavers homemade coleslaw and vegetable crisps. Choose from the prawn Marie rose, BLT, coronation chicken and avocado and hummus.
A delightful treat for any occasion, the afternoon tea comes complete with salmon and cream cheese, gammon, tuna mayo, egg mayo or cheddar cheese sandwiches on white or brown bread. Homemade sausage rolls made with local sausage meat and homemade Weavers quiche help to make up the savoury side of the meal, along with plenty of sweet treats and a scone with jam and cream, all complete with traditional tea.
