Dory Bistro & Gallery is a seafood restaurant that is located in Pittenween. Here, you can enjoy affordable food with a focus on local, seasonal ingredients that are found in and around Fife. The team are proud to celebrate the bounty that Fife and Angus supply, and work with its seasonal rhythms to keep serving customers local, sustainable and well priced food.
This restaurant is also an art gallery, and has been open to the public since 2018. On the Pittenweem harbourside, the chefs are lucky to be able to have access to one of Scotland's busiest shellfish ports. Some of the seafood that is found on the menu has been sourced less than 40 metres from the restaurant. Only the finest and freshest ingredients are used in the meals at Dory's, and the team work with local fishermen for seafood, and the nearby David Lowrie Fish Merchant in St Monans for their fish. Even the restaurant's vegetables are sourced from their own kitchen garden, including herbs and fruit.
Pre-starters include Cumbrae oysters with Cava granita, and nocellara olives with Wild Hearth artisan bread, extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Then, move onto starters of cullen skink with crispy smoked haddock fish balls, or the smoked pheasant with a pearl barley risotto, lardons and sauerkraut. For your main, try the Thai monkfish red curry with roast potato wedges and wilted greens or the oxtail pudding with celeriac purée, roast parsnips, red cabbage and a rich jus. When you’re ready to round your meal off, enjoy the Seville marmalade pudding with a honey Crème Anglaise, pink grapefruit sorbet and tulle, or a sweet and salty mix of baked pear and gorgonzola fondant with a pine nut baklava and toasted pecans.
