In March 2019, in a time when Brexit was still the most talked about topic at the bar, when face masks were only worn by surgeons and the idea of crossing the road to avoid coming close to someone was only reserved for your mother-in-law, Waterloo House was born.
In an old bank building, in the centre of the idyllic town of Nailsworth, the idea was a simple one. Fresh, local produce at affordable prices; the best coffee money could buy, cocktails for all tastes and beers from down the road and around the globe.
Fast forward a year or two and the landscape has changed. With Covid having torn the heart out of the hospitality business the world over, and ever increasing restrictions seeking to suck the joy out of our every day lives, one thing hasn't changed: our desire to make every trip to our House one that you will enjoy.
The kitchen is undergoing a massive refurbishment, but so has the cocktail list & the draught beer selection. With owner Christo Archer out of the kitchen and back where he belongs behind the bar, this promises to be an exciting time for us as we move out of the pandemic storm, into those sunny uplands we were all promised oh so long ago.
