Burleigh Court is a four-star manor house hotel in the Cotswolds, an area renowned for its natural beauty and luxurious hospitality concepts. Built in 1770, the country house is brimming with stunning period features, from the imposing, grey-stone facade to the open fireplaces, wall panelling and glittering chandeliers inside.
Guests of the hotel and locals are welcomed to visit and enjoy Burleigh Court's in-house dining experience, The Burleigh Restaurant, an award-winning restaurant boasting two AA rosettes. As you might expect with a location nestled in the heart of the Cotswold, the restaurant's menu aims to highlight the best of local farms, producers and growers, serving up seasonal menus.
In terms of the menus available, we like the sound of the 'day grazing menu' which offers a selection of plates which work for any time of the day. You can expect gourmet sandwiches and toasties with fillings like oak smoked salmon and cucumber, as well as a grazing platter with cured meats, pickled onions, local chutney, anchovies and baked camembert.
The dinner menu is split up into starters, mains and desserts, with highlights including slow braised pig cheek with sultana chutney, caramelised apple puree, charred and pickled baby leek, followed by seared loin of local estate venison with potato fondant, pickled blackberries, seasonal vegetables and broccoli puree.
Desserts sound particularly delicious with options like Burleigh Court honey Cremeux with poached pears, honey granola, pear sorbet and honey tuille, as well as apricot and Amaretto rice pudding with an Amaretto macaron, apricot jam and caramel puffed rice.
If looking forward to a special occasion, consider booking the homemade afternoon tea which you can enjoy with lovely views out across the Stroud Golden Valley. Instead of finger sandwiches, the chef's have prepared a selection of charcuterie and a classic Scotch egg, alongside warm scones, clotted cream, jam and a mix of cakes.
