Tynemouth is a coastal town in North Tyneside. It's located on the north side of the River Tyne and is a town steeped in rich history with plenty of things to do – including visiting great attractions, lots of shopping, and brilliant nightlife. If you've got a day to spare and you find yourself in the north east part of England, you should definitely spend some time in Tynemouth. There are quite a few famous residents from this town, too, including Andy Taylor (who was the former lead guitarist for Duran Duran). Tynemouth’s beautiful priory and castle are what dominate the headland, and three kings are said to be buried here. The village has strong maritime connections, too. You'll have a perfect blend of quiet coastal charm and lots to do at Tynemouth.
