Known for their seafood restaurants in Glasgow, the Two Fat Ladies are now in charge of a namesake eatery within the Marine Hotel in Troon – a setting that mixes history and grandeur with a glorious location and fabulous views over the Firth of Forth to the Isle of Arran. The surrounds may be more imposing than the Ladies’ city venues, but this is the perfect spot for their signature seafood dishes and eclectic approach to things. Staples such as Cullen skink have their say, but also expect the likes of mussel and clam risotto with chorizo and parmesan, grilled lemon sole with tomato and chive butter or sea bass fillet with pine nut and rocket couscous. Meat eaters might fancy roast breast of woodland pigeon with balsamic-glazed red cabbage, while desserts naturally include the renowned ‘two fat’s grand platter’ for sharing.
