About

Tucked away inside Marine Troon hotel is The Rabbit and The Seal, a luxury bar and restaurant. The hotel itself has rooms for up to 89 guests, a spa and indoor pool, and squash courts, as well as the all-day bar and restaurant.

The restaurant, The Rabbit, is described as a ‘Scottish culinary experience’, providing diners with dishes made from seasonal ingredients, local produce, game, and seafood. With beautiful views of the Royal Troon golf club and course, the Scottish coast, and the Isle of Arran, it’s a spot of delight for both the eyes and the tastebuds. Meals at The Rabbit are ‘a beautiful convergence of land and sea’, in keeping with the hotel’s classy and tasteful theme. The venue is ideal for meals at any time of day: breakfast, lunch, dinner, a mid-afternoon Sunday roast, even afternoon tea.

Food at The Rabbit is a delicious and hearty affair. To start, there’s burrata with roast beets, hazelnuts, and white balsamic, as well as citrus cured salmon flavoured with fennel and preserved lemon. Main courses take the form of dishes like lamb shoulder shepherd’s pie with fried spinach and salsa verde, or roast North Sea cod accompanied by wilted kale and crab sauce. There’s also an impressive sharer of 28oz dry aged sirloin of beef on the bone, with Café de Paris bearnaise and watercress. A charming touch on The Rabbit’s menu sees a hand drawn map adorned with drawings of the various local producers it works with.

As for the extras at The Rabbit, afternoon tea is served Friday to Sunday, and a Sunday roast every Sunday from 12pm – 3pm, where two courses are £35, and three courses are £40.

The bar, named The Seal after Royal Troon’s opening hole (which is visible from the venue), is a relaxed setting in which you can sip on a range of classic and bespoke cocktails, wines, and beers. No reservations are required, so you can easily drop by for an unplanned pre or post-dinner drink.

For special events, there are private dining rooms for hire in the Marine Troon, where you can enjoy its delicious dishes in an intimate space with loved ones.
