Turtle Bay Swansea is positioned in a buzzy area of the centre of the city bringing bags of Caribbean inspired energy to the area. Near to the docks, this is a good place to come for a lively breakfast or lunch after a walk along the river or even for a seriously energetic night out with friends for food and drinks. The polished glass exterior shows little of the interior which holds eclectic multi-coloured furniture and wall art as well as an open-faced, ever-busy bar and a flame filled open kitchen. There are few places with as much unmistakable character as this.

From the all day menu you can choose classic breakfast items like smashed avocado and poached eggs or choose a Caribbean themed dish like their big Kingston grill down - a challenge to the full English with jerk bacon and sausages. The West Indian curries section select dishes like curried salmon and a jerk pit section sees classics like jerk chicken alongside more unique choices like jerk sirloin. As well as this, you can choose from a range of burgers and roti wraps - which can be filled with the likes of shredded jerk chicken - and if you want to eat lighter, Buddha bowls. All of this can be enjoyed with tempting sides, think dirty curry fries and a range of small plates (chilli cheese roti, garlic pit prawns) are good starters or perfect nibbles to go with drinks.

The drinks list has everything that you might want and the focus on cocktails and rums makes it a venue that would be more than acceptable to come to for drinks alone. The drinks are probably best enjoyed during the daily happy hours - two for one cocktails - and the daily bottomless brunch offering which, alongside selected dishes from the menu, sees you choosing from bottomless cocktails, mocktails, Prosecco or beer.
