You’ll find a fusion of Latin and Japanese cuisine at this lively spot, which lives up to its name with a vibrant mural depicting a tropical beach, and sushi served on colourful crockery.
The team may hail from South America, but sushi and sashimi is their craft. Blending ingredients from the tropics with traditional Japanese techniques, Tropical Sushi serves up made-to-order sushi from an impressively long menu (no conveyor belts or pre-made rolls here, thank you very much). Choose from the traditional likes of tuna maki rolls or salmon sashimi, or opt for the less conventional fusion rolls, including the Tropical Roll (salmon and avocado wrapped in fried plantain) and the vegan Tio Simon roll: veggie tempura, avocado and inari tofu, topped with sesame dressing and a teriyaki drizzle.
A click and collect service is available, but we’d recommend making a visit to experience the buzzy atmosphere, which includes the occasional spot of live music.
