Housed inside The Kensington Hotel, Town House is an all-day restaurant serving breakfast, brunch, dinner and afternoon tea. Designed to be a ‘home away from home’, this comfortable space boasts a real fireplace, plush armchairs, crystal chandeliers and homely furnishings designed to evoke the feel of a warm, if very luxurious, living room. Enjoy an elegant meal in the light-filled dining room, or head over to the glamorous bar when the sun goes down to sample one of its signature cocktails.
The a la carte menu is available for dinner and features a range of classic brasserie-style dishes. You might like to start with Buffalo milk burrata with tomatoes, basil dressing and toasted focaccia, or sea bass ceviche with baby corn, avocado, lime, chilli and corn tortillas. Main courses include Black Angus grass-fed steak with Café de Paris butter, fries and a salad, as well as whole Dover sole served grilled or meuniere. A variety of sides can be ordered to complement your meal.
Desserts continue the classic theme, with the likes of baked lemon cheesecake with raspberry compote, crème brulee with apricots and amaretto, and a warm chocolate fondant with praline ice cream. Do note that a vegetarian and vegan menu is also available. An a la carte breakfast menu is served every day at Town House, which includes hot and cold options. Keep things simple with a croissant and coffee, or opt for a something more substantial such as eggs royale, a full English or pancakes with maple syrup and bacon.
The bar at Town House is a central part of its offering, with a strong focus on cocktails. Examples of its signature creations include the sweet and sour Last Word which features gin, Chartreusse Verte, Maraschino and lime juice, or the Brandy Crusta made with Seignette VS, orange and Marasche liqueurs.
There are nine non-alcoholic cocktails on the list, too, for those looking to forego the booze, while a huge selection of premium wines spirits and Champagne complete its offering.
