Tootoomoo is a North London restaurant group which began its journey with its flagship restaurant in Crouch End. Having branched out across Islington, Highgate and now Whetstone, this live-wire neighbourhood eatery boasts a please-all menu of pan-Asian favourites, aiming to bring together Malaysian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese influences in one exciting fusion menu. Whetstone is available to both eat-in and takeaway, while on the weekends it's all about its killer bottomless brunch menu!
Having undergone a recent refurbishment, this cosy space offers plenty of intimate seating areas for big and small groups to enjoy its exciting sharing plates. There’s also an open communal bar where diners can kick back with an uncomplicated wine list, Asian beers, soft drinks and Asian-inspired cocktails.
The menu features a selection of sharing dishes, from classic favourites to innovative, contemporary plates. Discover soups and salads, dumplings, bao buns, wok dishes, curries, noodles and more. Reliable options include the likes of chicken gyoza, szechuan chilli beef, aromatic crispy duck and green Thai curry. If you’re looking to push the boat out a little, then dishes such as shichimi squid, seaweed salad, peppered seafood and steamed seabass with a ginger and soy lime dressing are sure to please. The menu is also vegetarian and vegan-friendly with a range of plant-based options up for grabs. Better still, gluten-free eaters are also taken care of.
From Friday to Sunday, it also serves up a 90-minute, four-course bottomless brunch. Choose from a selection of starters, small plates, bao buns and noodles, as well as your drink of choice (prosecco, wine, beer or Margaritas!).
The odd name Tootoomoo comes from Asian folklore: Tootoomoo was a little girl who cooked wonderful food for hungry giants. Kids will enjoy the story, while takeaways and a brand-new cocktail bar area should keep the grown-ups happy.
