Tivoli Cheltenham

What a beautiful beer garden. 

We got to sit out in the sun and enjoyed a love G&T with our dog Bernard! The staff looked after use and it felt very safe with everything that's going on now. Social distancing wasn't an issue. 

For a long time we've wanted to go there, but never got around to it. So when we finally did, we did expect a pleasant dining experience. But when we entered the restaurant/pub, there was nobody to great us. After a while, a girl behind the bar helped us to a table. The menu was standard pub grub and not very "gastro". The atmosphere was like that of an empty pub. Very odd room with a bar against one wall, a few tables around the perimeter and in the middle a few high bar tables and bar stools. Certainly did not work for us. Service was quite casual with a dirty tea towel flung over the shoulder or under the arm. Not my kind of place. Nobody came to clear our plates, so we just got up, paid and left. Not a very good evening.
