This aptly-named bar/eatery was started back in 2012 by two guys in their garage. Since then, the pair has enjoyed phenomenal success and are now proud owners of a bespoke, award-winning brewery just outside Newport. Tiny Rebel also has bars in Cardiff and Newport city centre, but there’s nothing quite like drinking beer brewed on site, which is what visitors to its Brewery Bar can look forward to.
The team at Tiny Rebel are firm believers in quality, which is why they’ve invested in the very best across cask, keg, bottle and can. Punters can see all four packages coming into being from the bar, and can sample a massive selection of its core, seasonal and special beers just a few feet from where they are brewed and packaged. The Brewery Bar serves up everything from its best known brews, like Cwtch and Clwb Tropicana, to one off collaborations and specials, with everything from dark ales on cask to hoppy IPAs from a can on offer.
The bar also serves up a range of food, from snacks and small plates to weekend breakfast and Sunday roasts. Breakfast includes all the usual options, such as eggs, porridge, waffles and full Welsh breakfast, with the option to add bottomless prosecco for £15. The weekday lunch menu comprises sandwiches and light bites, while the main menu includes everything from small plates to loaded nachos, hotdogs, burgers and main dishes, plus a whole range of tempting desserts. There’s a separate gluten-free menu and a special menu just for kids too. Sunday lunch offers good value, with mains including the likes of beef, pork and a vegan Wellington, though you’ll need to book ahead.
The space itself is vast, with outside seating that gets filled up fast during summer months. Brewery tours can also be arranged (adults only).
