The White Bear, Ruislip is a cosy pub and brasserie serving a British and French inspired seasonal menu and Sunday lunch. The White Bear is part of Raymond Blanc’s White Brasserie Company Group and is located on the Ickenham Road.
The a la carte menu is seasonal and varied, with plenty of classic dishes and favourites to choose from. Starters include the popular Wyke cheddar cheese souffle, chicken liver parfait and Mediterranean fish soup served with gruyere croutons.
Main courses sound just as tempting, with dishes such as smoked outdoor reared pork belly served with crispy crackling and roasted apple, and grilled Loch Fyne salmon fillet served with tomato hollandaise. There is also a good selection of matured grass-fed steak, steak frites, and a chateaubriand for two.
Desserts cover many of the usual favourites in their own unique way, you will find sticky toffee pudding served with a cocoa, almond and citrus crisp, and a poached Yorkshire rhubarb crumble served with a citrus crumb and vanilla ice cream. There are also lots of ice creams and sorbets to choose from with flavours such as salted caramel and green apple.
The White Bear is well positioned for those heading in and out of London, it is also a short distance from Colne Valley Park, the perfect place to stop off on your way home for a drink or a bite to eat. This family friendly pub and brasserie has a children’s menu, and a junior menu which features many dishes from the main menu served in a smaller portion.
There is also a pretty garden area, which is lined with pastel bunting and festoon lighting. It is largely covered over making it a nice place to sit and enjoy an evening meal or your favourite tipple. The White Bear also screens live sports from the garden, check before you visit to see what’s on.
