Part of a South England micro chain, The Falmouth Stable is a casual pizza restaurant situated at the heart of the gorgeous Custom House Quay in the Old Custom House itself. One of only two Cornwall outposts, The Stable prides itself on serving some of best sourdough pizza around, alongside an impressively broad selection of cider, all in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Come here during the day for a quick lunchtime bite with the kids, or head over in the evening for a pizza-fuelled date night with stunning views of Falmouth's harbour.
Bursting with character, the Grade II-listed building which houses The Stable features impressive white columns on the outside. The restaurant is split over two floors, with the rustic downstairs area featuring exposed brickwork and original wooden beams. Meanwhile upstairs, the long dining room features banquet-style tables and benches and an open kitchen. Out the back of the restaurant are a few outdoor tables which overlook the quay and are the perfect spot for al fresco dining during the summer.
The Falmouth Stable’s food menu begins with sharing plates such as baked camembert and a charcuterie board, which are ideal to nibble on while you decide what pizza you’re going to opt for. When it comes to the restaurant’s signature pies there are plenty of different varieties to choose from including both vegan and vegetarian options; pizzas range from a standard margherita to more unusual choices such as The Blazing Saddle, which comes topped with pulled West Country beef, bacon, red onion marmalade and garlic aioli. Finish your meal with a gooey chocolate brownie with salted caramel sauce and honeycomb.
Drinks on offer include a number of wines, beers and spirits, but The Stable is perhaps best known for its impressive cider menu which includes a number of locally produced bottles.
