The Shack’s local produce, including fresh fish landed in Newlyn, oysters from Porthilly, and mussels and crabs sourced from Cornish waters, has even earned it a place in the Cornwall Good Seafood Guide.
The Shack’s sumptuous menu has been compiled by head chef Jay Knight, using the best ingredients from sister restaurant The Shed Falmouth. Popular dishes here include the crab, lobsters, oysters, scallops and mussels, all prepared using unique cooking styles. There’s also some smoked haddock and bacon chowder, and mussel and prawn linguine on offer, as well as steak for those who aren’t in a seafood mood (although who wouldn’t be when surrounded by all this fresh local produce?)
Don’t miss out on ‘The Shack Stack’, an impressive seafood platter designed to share which features crab, mussels, squid, crevettes, oysters, scallops, skin-on fries, aioli, sweet chilli dip and bread. The sharing style of this dish reflects the homey atmosphere of the restaurant.
There are also various specials on offer throughout the week, which vary according to what the local fisherman have landed. These options can usually be expected to include the likes of razor clams, cockles, and in-house cured fish.
It's worth noting that fresh seafood is delivered daily to the restaurant. Additionally, the menu may vary throughout the year according to both what’s in season and what has been caught recently.
