The Rummer was established in 1742, and is in the heart of medieval Bristol. By using high quality local produce, the team at The Rummer are able to distil, blend, smoke and season delicious drinks to bring guests unforgettable cocktails in a relaxed and intimate setting with a wonderful vibe, you'll surely want to return. The Rummer has a history as a public house, for many centuries, and back in 2003 the cocktail bar really helped to blow up the local cocktail scene in the city. Over twenty years later, today, The Rummer is still under the same ownership and is considered the godfather of Bristol's cocktail scene. The bar has won multiple awards, and is proud to be the stockist of the largest range of spirits in the region, with over 500 to choose from.
On the menu is a Bristol Twists section of cocktails, including the Turbo Zombie which is a mix of nitrogen infused Turbo Island Gin, tropical gin, bilberry gin, Benedictine, Somerset Cider Brandy, grenadine, apple, passionfruit, lime, fire and regret. The French Lemonty Five contains lemon and lemongrass gin, lemon, lemongrass syrup and Prosecco - a real refreshing blend. Off the wall, enjoy the Bear Necessities, a mixture of camomile infused honey rum, lime, creme de mure and ginger beer. For something unique, try the small batch cocktails, like the Another Good Raisin with damson, sloe gin and Campari infused with raisins, or the Manhattan Sous Vide with a blended Manhattan of rye and bourbon, slow cooked with oak and cherry.
If you like to try something local wherever you go, order the tropical gin. Made in The Rummer’s distillery in collaboration with 99 Queens in Clifton. This is an award winning gin that is perfect for summer, or for those with a fruity disposition.
