The Rose Inn is positioned in the centre of Wokingham, and brings an old school, charming pub to locals who can tell the difference between a good beer and a great one. The menu is full to the brim with fresh dishes that are inspired by the Mediterranean and you can trace the ingredients right from their field or farm through to your fork. What more could you ask for? With so many choices on the menu, families are well catered for, and children will be kept busy with their very own activity pack. The Rose Inn comes from The Oakman Group, a collection that was formed in 2005 with the vision of creating pubs and restaurants where people could enjoy great food and drinks, and feel relaxed enough to catch up surrounded by love and laughter.
On the main menu, starters include a soft-boiled chorizo scotch egg with rocket and basil pesto, along with a beetroot gnocchi served with courgette, peas, pesto and pumpkin seeds. Next up are the wood fired pizzas, made in a traditional Neapolitan style with 00 flour, tomato sauce and Fior di Latte mozzarella, all of which are sourced from Naples. You can choose from toppings of a classic margherita or one levelled up to include luxury bufala mozzarella and capuliato tomatoes, along with the zucca, parma, bolognese, casa pepperoni and casa lingo. From the salads and pasta section you can enjoy a crispy cauliflower nourish bowl with roasted butternut squash, aubergine baba ganoush, spiced chickpeas, gem lettuce and rocket, roasted red pepper and garlic hummus, avocado and pesto, along with the spaghetti primavera that tosses together mozzarella di bufala, parmigiano reggiano, courgettes and peas.
There are more classic mains on the menu, too, including plenty of steak and burger options, a lemon and rosemary braised lamb shoulder, fish and chips, and salmon, spinach and fennel en-croute.
