Booked this gastro pub based on online recommendations. Arrived promptly, order taken and starters (preprapered) served promptly, and were excellent. We then sat for 70 minutes waiting for our main course. At no time did anyone from the pub come over to inform us why our meal was delayed. It was only after I noticed people who had arrived after us being served that I finally asked where our meals were (and threatened to leave within 5 mins if they weren't served). Amazingly after 5 mins they appeared, with the explanation that the kitchen was very busy . This was despite the fact that by the time we were served there were no other diners waiting for their main course. The food itself was excellent, but it was clear that no one was in charge of the restaurant...otherwise someone would have realised there was a problem.
