A sophisticated restaurant and cocktail bar overlooks Swansea's River Tawe and Marina, and it's The River House. This beautiful restaurant is next to the sail bridge and busy SA1 waterfront, serving hundreds of customers in its busy location each day. This fine dining restaurant is well praised, and serves delicious food to customers, all whilst being surrounded by beautiful views of the river and harbour. The restaurant is keen on using fresh and local ingredients in order to provide the highest quality, tasty food for everyone who walks through the doors.
The starters are delicious and reflect some seasonal ingredients that are found in many similar restaurants. Choose from fresh mussels with sun blushed tomatoes, an olive tapenade and radish, the smoked salmon with pickled apple and yuzu dressing, or the chicken liver parfait in oats with rustic bread. There are plenty of classic mains to choose from, including the beer battered hake with crushed peas, thick cut chips and lemon, and the sirloin steak with skin on fries, tomatoes, garlic mushrooms and onion rings. If you want something a little fancier, try the duck breast with poached beetroot, carrot puree and dauphinoise potato, or the wild mushroom and carrot pave with baby spinach and grated parmesan.
There are loads of delicious desserts to choose from when it comes to finishing up your meal at The River House. If you like to end on a saltier note, order the trio of cheese with Wensleydale and cranberry, a creamy Stilton, and mature cheddar served with crackers and grapes. To cleanse your palette, try the blackcurrant or orange sorbet, or a creamy and fresh bowl of Eton mess with Champagne sorbet, fresh strawberries, meringue and fresh cream.
