Other House is a new concept in the world of hotels and members clubs, bringing together aspects of both for those looking for longer term lets in the heart of London. Designed to, quite literally, be your 'other house' - these compact apartments are designed like boutique hotel bedrooms and come with all of the housekeeping services, too.
The South Kensington branch boasts an all-day dining concept called The Other Kitchen which serves breakfast, brunch and lunch, with opening hours from 7am until 6pm. A large, open plan space with plenty of natural light and colourful interiors, the vibe is relaxed but fashionable - a great place to meet friends or clients, whether you're staying in the apartments or not. The menu's overall inspiration comes from fresh, seasonal produce and ingredients that pack a punch flavour wise, with three different food offerings to try.
Let's start with breakfast - take a peek at the breakfast bar for freshly baked pastries, cereals and yoghurt pots, as well as coffee, teas, smoothies and juices. It wouldn't be breakfast without a full English, especially thanks to sausages from Huntsham Farm and Clarence Court eggs. If you've got a sweet tooth, the Belgian waffle with maple syrup is a must.
For brunch, it's all about classics like eggs benedict spiced up with Suffolk chorizo and whipped avocado, or eggs florentine with garlic field mushrooms and wilted spinach. Personally, we like the sound of The Other Kitchen's signature bacon sandwich, with Greens smoked streaky bacon and Huntsham Farm sausage on Flourish craft sourdough.
Meeting a friend for lunch? How about a fresh salad laden with curly endive, lollo biondo, oakleaf and garden peas, or perhaps something a little more indulgent, such as the truffle pesto pasta with charred broccoli? If sharing is more your thing, take a look at the small plates like Channel sea bream ceviche or avocado caesar - or, better yet, get stuck into sharing platters filled with English cheese and charcuterie.
