Part of The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne, Mirabelle is open to both hotel guests and the public (it has a separate entrance at the side of the restaurant). The elegant dining room features muted grey walls and cosy royal blue chairs, while service is unashamedly old school.
Mirabelle serves a weekly-changing menu of modern European dishes, at lunch and dinner. The menu combines classic fare with newer takes, meaning on your visit you might enjoy the likes of pumpkin and apple soup to start, and cod fillet with parsnip purée, cabbage and pancetta for main.
Desserts continue the theme of joining together old and new, with possible options including soufflé with plum compote, or caramelised pineapple served with a banana and passion fruit sorbet. Note that gentlemen are required to wear a suit jacket or collared shirt in the restaurant.
