The Mill was born in September 2013 with a simple yet profound idea at its core: that food should be uncomplicated, sourced locally in Scotland, and infused with freshness. After enduring a devastating fire, The Mill has undergone a beautiful restoration, recapturing the charm of a close-knit community. Over the past decade, the restaurant's mission has been to establish a social hub for our neighbours and a warm, welcoming haven for those who come from afar. The restaurant is open daily between the hours of 10am and 4pm.
Every one of the menus are thoughtfully curated, prioritising simplicity over extravagance. The restaurant’s dedicated team is always there, ready to assist. The team are also unwavering in their commitment to using Fairtrade tea and coffee. Whether you're stopping by for a light snack, indulging in a special lunch, or simply spending a leisurely afternoon with friends over a cup of tea, you’ll have a lovely time at The Mill.
The breakfast menu starts off with The Mill breakfast, including bacon, sausage, fried egg, black pudding, beans, tattie scone, tomato and toast. You'll also find a breakfast bowl of coconut yoghurt, granola, fresh fruit, golden syrup and chia seeds and a fresh fruit waffle topped with berry coulis and whipped cream.
For lunch, the soup of the day is served with a homemade cheese scone, beer battered North Sea haddock, and a delicious applewood smoked cheddar and sweet tomato chutney open sandwich. Don’t forget about adding some delicious sides to your meal, like the parmesan fries.
For dessert, try the sticky toffee pudding, cherry and almond slice, or vanilla creme brulee. Kids are well catered for, too, with a dedicated children's menu.
