The Longstore offers diners a blend of stylish, modern dining but with a friendly Cornish feel. Located on the historic Lemon Street in Truro, The Longstore focuses their menus on local catch, quality and freshness. With relationships secured with local farmers, fishmongers and bakers, The Longstore continuously serves up the most delicious offerings. You'll no doubt want to start your meal with some delicious bar bites whilst you order your drinks. You'll be able to enjoy potato shavings with tomato salt and aioli, along with Cornish ham hock and cheese fritters, and tempura cod cheeks in a caper and anchovy sauce. To start, enjoy the Kilhallon Farm braised beef croquettes with blue cheese aioli and chilli ketchup, the wild mushroom arancini or the salt baked beets and goat's curd bruschetta.
For your main, try the steaks such as the fillet, sirloin or celeriac steak. Each comes with a roasted garlic and onion puree, crispy shallots and slow roasted tomatoes, along with one house side. The bigger cuts, known as Longstore big cuts, are the porterhouse, tomahawk and chateaubriand are the specials, and are known to be enough for a couple to share. For grills, try the Longstore burger with a recipe patty using a whole flank of aged Cornish beef, New York style pastrami, gouda cheese, peppercorn and mustard sauce, lettuce and pickles. For true indulgence, try the low and slow Cornish lamb ragu or mushroom mac and cheese burger.
If you want to try some Cornish seafood, order the brown crab and lemon sole fillets with samphire, the pan-fried cod loin with squid and tomato ragout and tarragon aioli, or the Cornish seafood chowder with Fowey Bay scallops, lardons, local fish, tiger prawns, Cornish cream, sweetcorn and new potatoes and Da Bara bread.
