Having tripped the light fantastic – a Norman Foster-designed illuminated catwalk leads to this hidden former warehouse – you should head for the mezzanine lounge bar at Tom Sellers’ modern European restaurant, Restaurant Ours. Inside, the look is 1970s New York loft: all Kentia palms, velvet plush, shag-pile rugs and retro grooviness. Classic cocktails invented long before the days of disco include Aviation (£15), Blood & Sand, Last Word (essentially, a Gimlet with maraschino and Chartreuse) and, on a 1960s Milan excursion, Negroni ‘Spaliato’. Other hits include Negringo (a mescal, Tequila, orange and coffee nightcap) and Dolce Gabbana Hello (vodka, verveine, basil, coriander and elderflower) – a good buy at £10. Dress in D&G or something similarly designer: the Lounge is a see-and-be-seen late-night scene. For sustenance, snack on samosas, oyster tempura, ham croquettes or buttermilk chicken.
