‘There’s more to Wembley than its famous stadium’, say the owners of this all-day eatery and bar on the High Road. High ceilings, exposed brickwork, flickering neon signs and retro artwork emblazoned in the walls set the funky urban mood, and there are lots of cool, evocatively named party spaces for hire – including a ‘mirrored aviary’ and a ‘secret room’. Chill out of chesterfield sofas with an innovative sip from the cocktail list – perhaps a mojito diablo laced with apricot brandy and strawberry purée or an apple pie (Luxardo Amaretto and hot apple juice finished with a cream float and flamed cinnamon). Sustenance comes from international favourites such as chicken Kiev, sticky ribs, New York-style hot dogs, steaks and gourmet sandwiches, plus pizzas from the clay oven (try one of the half-metre flights). Breakfasts, ‘sunshine brunch’ and Sunday roasts complete the offer.
